This three year expansion and renovation project launched in 2005 and included the new construction of a patient wing, a six-story ICU tower, parking structure and heliport, along with several smaller OSHPD renovation projects. As part of our role, Geosphere provided an extensive value engineering regarding several geotechnical issues. All underground utilities were re-routed as part of our scope of services. Special foundation constraints Geosphere provided geotechnical on-site observations and performed extensive work utilizing ground penetrating radar and radiography to help facilitate penetrations into existing concrete without damaging reinforcing steel.
